Lors d'une grève un syndicaliste victime d'un chantage est obligé de trahir sa cause pour protéger sa femme et ses enfants. Accusé d'être un voleur par ses camarades, il fuit en abandonnant sa famille. Celle-ci survit péniblement. L'un des fils, Vijay, se sacrifie pour que Ravi, son frère plus brillant, puisse faire des études. Les deux frères suivent des chemins différents, jusqu'à devoir s'affronter lorsque Ravi, devenu officier de police, doit poursuivre Vijay qui a choisi la voie du crime.

During a strike, a blackmailed trade unionist is forced to betray his cause to protect his wife and children. Accused of being a thief by his comrades, he fled, abandoning his family. She barely survives. One of the sons, Vijay, sacrifices himself so that Ravi, his more brilliant brother, can study. The two brothers follow different paths, until they have to confront each other when Ravi, now a police officer, must pursue Vijay who has chosen the path of crime.
