Sundar (Raj Kapoor), Gopal (Rajendra Kumar) et Radha (Vyjayantimala) sont amis denfance. Plus tard, on apprend que Sunder est porté disparu. Gopal et Radha osent enfin savouer leur amour. Cependant, la réapparition inopinée de Sunder, auréolé de gloire, rescapé de la mort, vient perturber leur bonheur...

Sundar (Raj Kapoor), Gopal (Rajendra Kumar) and Radha (Vyjayantimala) are childhood friends. Gopal and Radha have always secretly loved each other, but Sunder doesn't want to admit it and asks for Radha's hand. Being refused, he is heartbroken and decides to join the army.
